Create UPI QR code online in under a minute

This free tool turns your UPI ID into a payment QR code that customers, friends or clients can scan with any UPI app. You can set a fixed amount or leave it open, add a note, put your logo in the centre and print a neat "Scan & Pay" card. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no expiry date.

Everything happens in your browser. We never see your UPI ID, and we never touch the money: the payment goes straight from the payer's bank account to yours through UPI. Anyone with a UPI ID can use it: a shop owner, a tutor, a freelancer or a friend collecting money for a trip.

How to generate UPI QR code with amount (or without)

  1. Enter your UPI ID. This is your VPA, such as yourname@okaxis or 9876543210@ybl. The field checks that it looks like name@bank.
  2. Enter the payee name (optional). Use the name on your bank account or your shop name, or leave it empty. Most UPI apps show the registered account name anyway, so the payer can confirm who they are paying.
  3. Add an amount (optional). Leave it empty and the payer types the amount. Fill it in to make a QR code for a specific amount, for example a fixed fee or a single invoice.
  4. Add a note (optional). A short remark such as "Order 42" or "June rent" appears in the payer's app and in your bank statement.
  5. Style it in the Design panel. Change colours and dot style, upload your logo, and set the size and quiet zone. The code updates live as you type.
  6. Download or print. Save as PNG, SVG or JPG, copy the image, or download the printable "Scan & Pay" card with your name and UPI ID on it.

Scan the finished code with your own phone first. The readout under the code shows the exact link stored inside it, so you can check every detail before you share it.

Fixed amount or open amount?

Use a fixed amount when every payer owes the same sum: a class fee, an entry ticket or one invoice. That is also how to generate UPI QR code for specific amount requests: type 499 in the Amount field and the payer's app opens with ₹499 filled in. Leave the amount empty for a shop counter or a donation box, where every payment is different.

Generate QR code from UPI ID in four fields

All you need is a UPI ID, also called a VPA (virtual payment address). You do not need a bank account number, IFSC code or merchant registration. That is what makes this a simple UPI to QR code generator, and also a UPI VPA QR code generator in the literal sense:

  • UPI ID – required. A missing @ or a space shows an error before you print anything.
  • Name – optional, shown to the payer.
  • Amount – optional, fixed in rupees.
  • Note – optional, shown in both apps and statements.

As a UPI ID QR code generator, free and without sign-up, it suits a one-time payment as well as a permanent counter sticker. You can make UPI QR code online and have it on WhatsApp a minute later.

What is UPI QR code?

A UPI QR code is a QR code that stores a UPI payment link. When someone scans it in a UPI app, the app opens the payment screen with your details already filled in. The payer only has to check the name, enter or confirm the amount, and approve with their UPI PIN.

What is inside the code

The generator builds a standard UPI deep link in this format:

upi://pay?pa=sharmastore@okaxis&pn=Sharma%20Store&am=250&cu=INR&tn=Order%2042

  • pa – payee address, your UPI ID (required)
  • pn – payee name (left out when empty)
  • am – amount in rupees (left out when you keep the amount empty)
  • cu – currency, always INR
  • tn – transaction note

Because this is the common format all UPI apps understand, the page works as a universal UPI QR code generator online, free and with nothing to install. BHIM, Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, Amazon Pay and bank apps can all read it.

Static vs dynamic UPI QR code

This tool makes a static UPI QR code. The details are fixed inside the image, so it works forever and needs no server. A dynamic UPI QR code is created fresh for each transaction by a payment gateway or merchant system, usually with a unique order ID and amount, so the shop's software can match each payment automatically. If you run a website checkout that must mark orders as paid on its own, you need a gateway. For a counter, a stall, a tuition class or collecting money from friends, a static code is all you need.

Bharat QR code vs UPI QR code

Bharat QR is an interoperable standard from NPCI and the card networks that can accept both card payments (RuPay, Visa, Mastercard) and UPI. Banks issue it to registered merchants. A UPI QR code accepts UPI payments only, and anyone with a UPI ID can make one, including with this generator.

UPI QR code generator for business and personal use

A digital payment QR code works anywhere people carry a phone:

  • Shops and street vendors: print the Scan & Pay card and stick it near the billing counter.
  • Freelancers and tutors: add a QR code with a fixed amount to invoices or fee slips.
  • Home services and deliveries: carry a small printed code so customers pay on the spot.
  • Events and fundraisers: put one QR code on posters for entry fees or donations.
  • Splitting bills: share the image on WhatsApp so friends can pay you back.

Want customers to message you too? Pair your payment code with a WhatsApp QR code for orders, or a Google review QR code so happy customers can rate your shop right after they pay.

How to get UPI QR code for shop or current account

Your UPI ID can be linked to a savings or a current account. Wondering how to generate UPI QR code for current account collections? First create a UPI ID on the current account in your bank's app or a UPI app, then enter that ID here. Any account with a UPI ID works, which makes this a UPI QR code generator for bank account free of charge, savings or current.

If you are asking how to get UPI QR code sticker for shop use, you have two routes: ask your bank or payment app for a merchant sticker, or print your own Scan & Pay card here and laminate it. The same choice applies when you plan how to get UPI QR code for business use across several counters.

What is merchant UPI QR code?

Banks and payment apps offer merchant UPI QR code stickers and sound boxes for shops, often with settlement reports. A merchant UPI QR code is simply a code tied to a registered merchant account. This page does not register you as a merchant; it gives you a clean, printable code for the UPI ID you already have.

How to generate UPI QR code in BHIM app, Google Pay or PhonePe

Most UPI apps show your own QR code in the profile or "Receive money" section, and that works fine. Use this page when you want more: a fixed amount, a payment note, your logo, your brand colours, a large high-resolution file for printing, or a vector SVG for a banner.

Looking for a QR code generator for Google Pay or BHIM specifically? You do not need separate codes. One code from this page is read by BHIM, Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and every bank app.

Design tips: logo, colours and printing

  • Logo: when you upload a logo, error correction switches to High (H, about 30% recovery), so the code still scans with the centre covered. Keep the logo small and simple.
  • Contrast: use a dark code on a light background. Light-on-dark and pale colours such as yellow or light grey often fail.
  • Quiet zone: keep a clear margin around the code. Do not let borders or text touch it.
  • Size: print the code at least 2.5–3 cm wide for a bill or card, and 8–10 cm or more for a counter stand that people scan from a distance.
  • Format: use SVG for print shops and large stickers, since vector files stay sharp at any size. Use PNG for WhatsApp and screens.
  • Lamination: laminate counter cards so they do not fade, crease or reflect badly.

UPI QR code not scanning? Fixes that work

  • Check the UPI ID. One wrong letter or bank handle means the app cannot find the payee. Copy it from your UPI app to be safe.
  • Test before printing. Scan the code with two different UPI apps and confirm the name that appears.
  • Improve contrast. Switch back to black on white if a styled code scans slowly.
  • Lower the density. A long note makes the code denser. Shorten it, or enlarge the print size.
  • Avoid glare and damage. Shiny lamination under strong light and torn corners both cause failed scans.

Some UPI apps may show a caution message or apply lower limits for first payments to a new payee. That is a safety feature of the payer's app, not a problem with your code.

Safe, private and free

When you generate UPI QR code online here, the code is created by your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored. Some online payment QR code sites ask you to sign up or add a watermark. This one is a UPI payment QR code generator, free online, with no accounts, no scan tracking and no paid plan. Think of it as a free UPI QR code generator for India's everyday payments: the code has no expiry, so the sticker you print today keeps working as long as your UPI ID is active.

Received a payment QR and want to check it before paying? Open it in our QR code scanner, which shows the payee name, UPI ID and amount before you open any app. You can also make a QR code with logo for a link or text, or a WiFi QR code for your shop so customers can join your guest network.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create UPI QR code free, without sign-up?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on scans or downloads. The code is static, so it never expires.

How to create UPI QR code with amount?

Type the amount in the Amount field. It is added to the code as am=, and most UPI apps open with that amount filled in. Leave the field empty if you want the payer to enter the amount.

How to make UPI QR code without an app?

Open this page in any browser, enter your UPI ID and, if you like, your name and an amount. Download the PNG or the printable card. There is nothing to install and no login.

What is UPI QR code payment and how does it work?

The payer scans your code in any UPI app, sees your name and UPI ID, enters or confirms the amount and approves with their UPI PIN. The money moves from their bank account to yours in seconds.

How to generate QR code to receive money from anyone?

Enter your UPI ID above and share the downloaded image or print the card. Anyone with a UPI app can scan it and pay you; you never need to share your account number.

Does the UPI QR code work with Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM?

Yes. The code uses the standard upi://pay link, which all UPI apps can read, including bank apps.

How to create payment QR code with just a bank account number?

A UPI QR code needs a UPI ID (VPA), not an account number and IFSC. Create a UPI ID linked to your bank account in your bank app or any UPI app, then enter it here.

Is it safe to share my UPI QR code?

Yes. A UPI QR code only lets people send money to you. No one can take money from your account without your UPI PIN. Never enter your PIN to receive money.

Do you see or process my payments?

No. The code is made in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Payments go directly from the payer's bank to yours over UPI; this site never sees them.

Can I add my shop logo to the UPI QR code?

Yes. Upload a logo in the Design panel. Error correction switches to High automatically so the code still scans. Always test it with a phone before printing.

Can customers pay a UPI QR code with a credit card?

Some apps let users pay with a RuPay credit card linked to UPI, but mainly at registered merchant QR codes. A personal UPI QR code usually receives payments from bank accounts.

Why does the payer see a different name from the one I typed?

UPI apps usually show the name registered with the bank for that UPI ID. That is normal, and it helps the payer confirm they are paying the right person.
