Create location QR code online, free, in under a minute

This online location QR code generator turns any place into a code people can scan to see it on a map. A shop, a wedding venue, a guest house or an office gate all work. Someone points their phone camera at the code and the place opens in Google Maps or Apple Maps, ready for directions. It is free, needs no sign-up and the code never expires.

You can start from whatever you already have. Paste a Google Maps link, type an address or place name, or enter exact latitude and longitude. You can also tap Use my current location if you are standing at the spot. With a QR code generator, Google Maps share links, addresses and GPS pins all become one small square you can print anywhere.

How to make location QR code free, step by step

  1. Pick a tab. Choose Address or place, Google Maps link or Coordinates.
  2. Fill in the details. Type the address the way you would search in Google Maps (for example "Gate 2, Nehru Place, New Delhi 110019"), paste the share link, or type latitude and longitude. If you are at the location, press Use my current location. Your browser asks for permission first, then fills in the coordinates.
  3. Check the preview. The QR code updates live as you type. Below it, a readout shows the exact link stored inside the code, so you know what people will open.
  4. Style it (optional). Open the Design panel to change colours, dot style and corner style, or upload your logo for the centre.
  5. Download. Save it as PNG, SVG (vector, best for print) or JPG, or copy the image to your clipboard. For a ready-made sign, download the Find us here printable card.

That is all it takes to make location QR code online, free and without an account. The same steps answer how to create location QR code in Android, on an iPhone or on a laptop, because the page works in any modern browser.

How to get location QR code on Google Maps

If you want the exact pin you see in Google Maps, copy its share link first.

  • On Android or iPhone: open Google Maps, search for the place or long-press to drop a pin, tap Share, then Copy link. The link usually looks like https://maps.app.goo.gl/....
  • On a computer: open the place in Google Maps, click Share and then Copy link. You can also copy the address from the browser bar.

Paste that link into the Google Maps link tab and your code is ready. Google Maps has its own share options, but it does not give you a styled, print-ready code with your logo. That is the gap this tool fills.

How to get QR code for my location right now

Stand at the place, open this page on your phone and tap Use my current location. Allow location access when the browser asks. The tool switches to the Coordinates tab, fills in your latitude and longitude, and your current location QR code is created instantly. Phone GPS is often accurate to a few metres outdoors but can drift indoors. Check the pin on the map before you print a hundred copies.

What is location QR code and how does it work?

A location QR code is a normal QR code (ISO/IEC 18004) whose stored text is a map link or a set of coordinates. There is no tracking and no special app involved. When scanned, the phone reads the text inside and opens it like any other link.

This tool can store the place in two ways:

FormatExample of text inside the codeBest for
Google Maps linkhttps://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=28.612894%2C77.229446Most people. Opens Google Maps, or the browser if the app is missing. Works on Android and iPhone. An address is stored the same way, with the address after query=.
geo: linkgeo:28.612894,77.229446Opening the phone's default map app directly using pure coordinates. Available in the Coordinates tab. Support varies by phone and scanner app.

For signs, flyers and invitations, the Google Maps link is the safest choice because nearly every phone can open it. Use geo: when you want plain coordinates with no web address.

Because the link is written straight into the code, this is a static QR code. There is no redirect server in between, so it keeps working forever with unlimited scans. The flip side is that you cannot edit it after printing. If the place moves, make a new code.

Common searches, answered

How to get QR code for location without an app?

You do not need to install anything. Open this page, pick a tab, enter the place and download. It is a QR code generator without login, so there is nothing to sign in to either.

How to create location QR code in Google Maps?

Google Maps gives you the link, and this page turns it into the code. Tap Share on the place, copy the link, then paste it in the Google Maps link tab. The same answer covers how to generate location QR code in Google Maps on a phone or a computer.

How to create location scan code for a shop?

Many people call it a scan code. Type your shop name with the area and city in the Address or place tab, or paste its Maps link. Check the readout, then download the Find us here card for your counter or door.

Is this a QR code generator that lasts forever?

Yes. It is a static QR code generator, unlimited scans are included, and there is no expiry date or monthly plan. As long as the place exists on the map, the code keeps working.

Where to use a map QR code

  • Wedding and event invitation cards. Guests scan and get directions to the venue without typing a long address.
  • Shops, clinics and restaurants. Put it on visiting cards, pamphlets, bills and delivery bags so customers find you again.
  • Offices and factories. Share the exact gate or loading bay, not just the building name.
  • Home and delivery addresses. Stick one near the door or share it with couriers when your lane is hard to find.
  • Rentals, homestays and PGs. Add the code to booking confirmations and signboards.
  • Real estate. Put a code on a site board so buyers can save the plot location.

How to put location QR code in invitation card

Create the code from the venue's Google Maps link or address. Download it as SVG if a printer or designer is making your card, or as a high-resolution PNG (1000 px or more) if you are designing in Canva, Photoshop or Word. Place it in a corner with a short line such as "Scan for directions to the venue". Keep at least 2 cm width on the printed card. Print the written address too. That is the whole answer to how to create location QR code in invitation card designs.

Upload your logo in the Design panel and it sits in the centre. The error correction switches to High (H) automatically. At level H, up to about 30% of the code can be damaged or covered and it still scans. The other levels are L (7%), M (15%) and Q (25%). So you get a QR code generator with logo support and a free Google location QR code in one place.

You can also pick foreground and background colours, dot shapes (square, rounded, dots, classy, extra-rounded) and corner styles. Keep the dots darker than the background, and do not invert them. Many scanners struggle with light dots on a dark background.

Printing and scanning tips

  • Size: print at least 2 × 2 cm for cards held in the hand. For posters and signboards, make the code roughly one tenth of the scanning distance. A code read from 2 metres should be about 20 cm wide.
  • Quiet zone: leave a clear margin around the code. Do not let borders or text touch it.
  • Contrast: dark code on a light background works best. Avoid pale yellows, and avoid busy photos behind the code.
  • Format: use SVG for print so it stays sharp at any size. Use PNG for WhatsApp, websites and social media.
  • Test first: scan the final printed proof with an Android phone and an iPhone before printing in bulk.

Location QR code not scanning? Fixes

  • Opens the wrong place: check the readout under the code. An address can match a different city with a similar name. Add the PIN code or use a Google Maps link or coordinates instead.
  • Camera does not react: the code may be too small, blurry or low in contrast. Download a larger size or SVG, and print on matte paper to cut glare.
  • Logo breaks it: use a smaller logo and keep error correction at H.
  • Long link, dense code: long Google Maps URLs make busy codes. Use the short maps.app.goo.gl share link or plain coordinates for a cleaner code.
  • geo: link does nothing: some scanner apps do not open geo: links. Switch the Open in option back to Google Maps link.

Frequently asked questions

Is this location QR code generator free for lifetime?

Yes. The code is static, so the map link is stored directly inside it. It never expires, has unlimited scans and needs no subscription or sign-up. Think of it as a QR code generator, lifetime free, with no watermark.

How to get location QR code from a Google Maps link?

In Google Maps, open the place, tap Share and then Copy link. Paste the link into the Google Maps link tab on this page. The QR code appears instantly. Then download it as PNG, SVG or JPG.

How to create location QR code free without typing an address?

Tap Use my current location and allow location access when your browser asks. Your latitude and longitude fill in and the code is created. Check the pin before printing, because GPS can drift indoors.

Can I make my location QR code free of cost and share it on WhatsApp?

Yes. Your current location QR code free download is a normal PNG, so you can send it in any chat or post it online.

Does a location QR code work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The iPhone camera reads QR codes on iOS 11 and later. Most Android phones read them in the camera app or Google Lens. A Google Maps link opens in the Maps app or the browser on both.

Can I edit the location after printing the QR code?

No. Static codes cannot be changed once printed, because the location is written into the code itself. If the address changes, create a new code and replace the old prints.

How to generate location QR code free for many places?

Enter one place, download it, then change the address and download again. Each code takes a few seconds. For long lists of links, the bulk QR code generator can make many codes at once.

What size should a location QR code be on an invitation card?

At least 2 × 2 cm, with a clear margin around it. Download SVG for the printer or a PNG of 1000 px or more for design apps. Add a line like "Scan for directions".

Can I make location barcode instead of a QR code?

A normal 1D barcode can only hold short numbers or text, so it cannot store a map link that phones can open. Use a QR code for locations. That is also how to make location scan code that phones understand. For product numbers, use the barcode generator.

Where can I create free location QR code for my shop?

Right here. Type your shop address or paste its Maps link, then download the code or the printable Find us here card. It is a QR code generator for location, free and ready in seconds.

Is my address or location stored anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Addresses, coordinates and your current location are not uploaded or saved by this site.
